Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf...

Hello folks... guess what?!  It's Thursday and since last Thursday was Challenge day (reds, oranges and yellows - you've still got a whole week to enter), this Thursday must be the day for new releases at Little Miss Muffet Stamps! Yay!

Today I have two new girlies to show you... Peppermint as Little Red Riding Hood from the Sugar n Spice Dolls collection and Bailey from a new little girl collection by Barbara!  Where does she come up with all her fabulous ideas?!

First up, here is the gorgeous Bailey... she is available today at Little Miss Muffet stamps.

How sweet is she?!  She was so lovely to colour up too.  The main paper (I think)  is from My Mind's Eye and the secondary paper is from Cosmo Cricket.  I based the card on this Sketch by Stamping with the Dragon (and the summer time theme).  I coloured Bailey with copics (see details below) and added some cut out words from my Slice machine.

Here's a close up of Bailey:

And these are the copics I used:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

And now, for my second card today... whew! This is a long post...

This is Peppermint as Little Red Riding Hood:

I loved colouring this image (with copics... see details below) and I was so excited when I found an appropriate sentiment stamp in my stash (sentiment stamp from Sweet Pea Stamps)!  I based my card on the sketch for challenge #24 at A Gem of a Challenge.  The papers are mainly from October Afternoon with the base red from Cosmo Cricket.  The seam binding is from The Ribbon Girl.  The flower is from April Blackbird's stash (thanks AB!).

Fairies and Flowers

I'm just popping in quickly to post a card I made on the weekend for the Emerald Fairies current challenge which is Petals (include flowers or petals somewhere on your creation).

I based the card on a sketch, but I can't find it right now, so I will have to update this post later with the sketch details.  Watch this space...

UPDATE:  I found it!  It's Create4fun challenges.

Here is my card:

This is one of the Emerald Fairies... her name is Ebony.  I think she's one of my favourites.  The papers are from My Mind's Eye, Cosmo Cricket and Crate Paper.  I have coloured Ebony with copics (see details below) and the flowers are from Prima. The ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl.  I have added clear Stickles to Ebony's wings.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Finally a boy card!

I have finally made a boy card, but I see it still has a lot of red in it... oops.

This one is for the current Lili of the Valley challenge (#102) which is a sketch:

Here is my card:

How cute is this wee boy from Lili of the Valley?!  I think he's gorgeous.  I have coloured him with copics (see details below).  The papers are mainly from Cosmo Cricket and the sentiment stamp is from Lili of the Valley.  The ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl.

I see red!!!

Lately I have noticed that I seem to add red to pretty much all my cards somewhere...  I guess it's only natural seeing as it is my favourite colour, but maybe a bit predictable?

Anyway, today's card is one I created for this week's Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge which is ribbon and lace.  This was the first time I have coloured up any of my TPS images and I really like them!  I followed the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday...

And here is my card... not really what comes to mind when you think ribbons and lace, but hey...

I had so much trouble colouring the reds on this one... I started with the arms and I must have put too much of the darker reds down as it started to go all grainy when I blended so I thought I was going to have to trash the image, but I decided to continue colouring the rest of the coat just for practice and it turned out okay, so I went back to the arms and tried to re-blend them and they kind of worked.  They ended up a little bit darker than I intended though.  At least I learn't something new!

The papers are from Cosmo Cricket and the ribbon and lace is from The Ribbon Girl.  The image is coloured with copics and I made the wee flowery things with a gather stitch along one edge of the ribbon and a brad through the middle.

My husband actually verbally volunteered that he likes this card...  which is something for him.   I must admit, the bright red does make it very eye catching on the shelf lined up with all my other cards that are waiting to be posted.

Gravity...

This is my second post of the day...  I am having a lovely relaxing day making cards.  Not so productive though as I my mojo doesn't appear to be working very well.

Anyway, here's a card I made for the current Tiddly Inks challenge which is Sugar and Spice with a Twist  - to make a sarcastic or humorous card.

I used the current sketch from Truly Scrumptious:

The image is Always the Flower Girl from the Tiddly Inks Gothic Cute collection.  And I had the hardest time choosing papers.  In the end I settled with the main paper from Cosmo Cricket and the other papers from Echo Park and My Mind's Eye, but I'm still not happy with them.   The image is coloured with copics (see details below).

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Bon voyage!

I really love hot air balloons.  When I was in highschool my Uncle owned a hot air balloon and he often took me along for a ride.  It was in the Hawkes Bay region of NZ, a nice wide place in the country.  Apparently in some of the narrower areas of NZ it would be too dangerous to balloon as you could end up out at sea.  Anyway, we would get up really early and get going before the wind started up and everything was so still and beautiful and all you could hear from up in the air was the occasional roar from the hot air being blasted into the balloon.  And then there was the chase team job... that was the exciting part of the process!  Landing was often a bit hairy too!

Anyway, if you are wondering why I am rabbiting on about ballooning, my card this morning is for the current Pollycraft challenge which is holidays or travel and I chose to use the Sky Fairy from the Moon and Star Fairies range.

The papers are mainly from Crate Paper with one piece from Cosmo Cricket.   The clouds are from a stamp set by Lawn Fawn and are paper pieced using an Echo Park paper.  The sentiment is from the same Lawn Fawn set.   The flocked corner flourish is a rub on from Prima.

I have used the following sketch from Simon Says Stamp:

A little travel bug #3 I'm dreaming of a white Christmas

In the 30 degree heat of sunny Summer Greece, I happened to pass by a photograph on our wall of we two kids in snow jackets and goggles with rosy cheeks and very cold noses.

STEAM BOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO

Good ol' Western hospitality thrives here at Steamboat.  The barn sums it all up.  It's so not Aspen, and we love it for that.

Steamboat Springs, Colorado.  Christmas time with the scent of fir trees both in and outside the house, the trails of a thousand keen skiers up before the dawn to get the 'fresh tracks' and the smell of turkey roasting.

Fresh Tracks

It is here that for one's own good health it is recommended to jump from hot pool, to medium pool, to cool pool and then out and up the snow-covered slope to roll back down into the water.  It's fresh!

Snow mobile tracks in the late evening.

About to head down this daunting slope....

Snow covered Aspen trees.

So beautiful.   Go to Steamboat and soak up a little of the Winter magic if you ever get a chance.  Drink a milkshake at Lion Drugstore,  buy beautiful Indian woven rugs, have a hot chocolate at the tiny bookstore and read for hours.  Snuggle into your big fluffy coat and inspect the beautiful snow-flakes as they land, unique, on your sleeve and slowly melt away.

Red and teal...

It has been so nice to get home and spend some time in out little apartment!  The first thing I did when I got home and started unpacking was to claim the dining room table and set up all my crafting gear.  Luckily my husband doesn't mind too much.

I can't believe it is almost the end of June!  It is getting really hot here already.  I saw 36C (96.8F) on the road side sign yesterday.  This is June's sketch at I{heart}2stamp:

And here is my card:

This is Sonny Honeycloud - Sonny's Party one of the free Pollycraft images this month.  The papers are from Crate Paper, My Mind's Eye and October Afternoon.  The sentiment stamp is from Lili of the Valley and the ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl.  I have stitched around the papers with my sewing machine and pierced holes around the circles with a piercing tool.  Sonny is coloured with copics (see details below).

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
