My Poor Little Netbook has Died

I LOVE my netbook (Acer Aspire One), but last night while I was posting yesterday's blog, my faithful companion, recipe book and notebook froze and died.  Ordinarily this would not be such a problem, but I have two months worth of photos on there that I haven't archived yet!  Aahhhhh!  I'm tearing my hair out right now.

Anyway, posting may be a bit infrequent while I am getting my computer sorted out.

In other news, I tried the muffin recipe from yesterday again this morning with only 1/4 tsp of salt and it was MUCH better.

Ciao!

So sorry to hear about your netbook. I don't have one; I heard they are a great inexpensive alterative to "full" computers. But after what happened with yours it makes me wonder if they are like DVD Players are today - throw away instead of fix.

Hopefully you can, or a tech can, recover your pictures.

Yay! I am online again! Oh how we take for granted this wonderful gift of superfast broadband.

I'm sure we'll be able to 'rescue' all your 'stuff' from your Acer. If I remember correctly, it's given you problems before...

Off to make some glazed oranges for our littlest one's christening cake. I haven't been able to buy any anywhere.

The 'real' way should take a few days. This is going to be the 'jiffy' method. I'll post it once I see how they come out. Must get the cake baked tomorrow or it won't have had any time to 'mature'. And no. I won't put in so much booze this time.

Hope the glazed oranges worked out!

I am back online again now too. I had a major virus attack on my brand new little netbook and have had to wipe it and start again from scratch. Luckily we did finally manage to recover my files, but only by taking the computer apart and taking the hard drive out and connecting it up to another computer.

Brye Lynn: I am about 99% positive it was a virus that I got, so I still think the netbook is just as reliable as a normal laptop.
I really do love it... It is so much lighter and more portable... I take it everywhere. I really would recommend them.
I did finally manage to recover my files luckily... from now on I will archive weekly instead of every two months. : )

I purchased AVG antivirus a year ago and have just renewed for two years. Very, very impressed with it. A couple of times I've been about to link to a site when a 'warning message' has opened telling me the site has malware attached.
