Pollycraft Monday 126: Chill Out

Hello world!  It's me.  Sorry I have been quiet lately... I'm still on holiday.  We are now in Sydney staying with family and we had our niece's 2nd birthday yesterday!  It was a lovely day and the weather was beautiful (apparently for the first time this summer in Sydney!)!

Today we have a new challenge at Pollycraft chosen by the lovely Anita... she chose....

Chill Out

We would like to see what Chilling out means to you... is it winter?  or relaxing? or cool colours?  Our sponsor this week is My Mum's Craft Shop and they are offering the winner a £10 voucher to spend in store.

Head on over to the Pollycraft Challenge blog to check out the fabulous inspiration from my teamies.  I must admit I was totally stumped by this one for a while... here's what I eventually came up with:

This lovely fairy image is called Lilybean Fairy - Clover I believe.  I have coloured her with copics (see details below).  The papers are from Crate Paper and the ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl.  The charm is from Da Wanda and the chipboard dragonfly is from Make it Crafty.    The pearl brad is from My Mind's Eye.

Here is a close-up of the fairy:

And here are the copics I used:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
The Crafty Pad #156: Fresh Spring Colours
Stampalot Challenge: In the Garden
The Poodles Parlour: Anything Goes

We hope you can join us!

Pollycraft Monday #122 Anything But a Card

Good morning!  Things are back to normal at Pollycraft after the holidays and we will start having weekly challenges again from now on.

The lovely Jane has set us a hard one to start the year off... Anything But a Card...

Our fabulous sponsor this week is the Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn!
who are offering a £10.00 voucher for their fabulous shop for the winner!

Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn offers a fast, friendly and personal service
providing gorgeous stash to cardmakers and scrappers! Offering Customers
FREE postage over £25.00 and a loyalty scheme - Why not give us a try!?

The sale at Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn is well underway now with many items
reduced and some with more than 75% off!!!

I was really stumped with this one for a while because I didn't want to make another bookmark, so finally I decided to make a gift box for cards.  I'm not 100% happy with how it turned out... I think I don't like the paper I chose.  Ah well... such is life!  You really must check out my teamies makes though as they are all just fabulous!

Here's my card gift box:

It was kind of hard to get a good picture of... but you get the idea!  The cute fairy image is from the Swings and Slides Enchant and Explore collection and the papers are from Making Memories (I think).  The lid and base are both made from the same patterned paper, just reversed since they are double sided.  The chipboard flower is from Crate Paper and the swirly bling is from Prima.  The butterfly is from Maya Road and I have painted it with Ranger paint dabbers.  The seam binding ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl.

I used a tutorial from here to make the box.  I like this method as it makes the box quite sturdy with the double layered sides.  The box is 14cm x 14cm x 4.5cm.

I would like to enter this box into the following challenges:
Dream Valley Challenges: Anything Goes
Gingerloft Challenge #31: Anything Goes
One Stitch at a Time #95: Use 3 different Embellishments
2 Sisters Challenge #73: Things with Wings
CES Challenge #57: Anything Goes

Here are a few more pics:

I hope you can join us for the challenge!

Happy Monday!

Pollycraft Monday challenge 120 Mid-way reminder!

Good morning!   It's Pollycraft Monday again!  But we don't have a new challenge for you this week as we have a four week long challenge running at the moment with four fabulous prizes!  The challenge theme is Christmas Fun!  How easy is that?!

I made a midway reminder card using the brand new Swings and Slides Merry Christmas - Snowballs...

The papers are a mixture from Crate Paper (I think) and another brand.  The felt tree is new to me from The Craft Barn and very cool I must say.  I have added Stickles to the branches for snow.  The sentiment is a rub on from Pebbles.  The wee snowflake is the waste from a chipboard snowflake from Make it Crafty... I just cut around it in a hexagon shape. Waste not want not I say : )

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps #18: Christmas
Come and Get it Challenges: Anything Christmas
Gingerloft Challenge #30: Christmas and Winter
Mad for Markers: Christmas

Pollycraft Monday Challenge #120 - Christmas Fun

Good morning all!  It's Monday again!  We got the weekend off work again... yay!  I had a bit of a stomach bug though, so my mojo battery was running a bit low unfortunately...  I did watch lots of Fringe though.

We have a new challenge at Pollycraft this week that is going to run for one whole month!  We know everyone is busy around this time of year, so we are making things easy.  Our theme for this special four week challenge is

Head on over to the Pollycraft Monday blog to check out all five of the new stamps!  The DT had loads of fun with them!  For my card, I used one of the brand new Swings and Slides images called Snow Buds:

How cute are these two?! The papers I have used are from Crate Paper and I think the sentiment is too.  The snowflakes are from Make it Crafty and the ribbon and button are from my stash.  The image is coloured with copics (see details below).

For my card, I decided to use Blossoming Friendship from the Spring Things collection:

Pollycraft Monday #118 Cazza's Sketch

Good morning!  It's Monday again... not very long until Christmas now!

We had sooo many entries into the Anything Goes challenge last week, it was wonderful to see all your fabulous creations!  This week we have another fun challenge for you at Pollycraft.  Cazza has put together a fabulous sketch for you to try, and let me tell you, the DT have rocked this sketch... it was such a fun sketch to use!

This week's winner will receive 10 digis of their choice from Pollycraft!

For my card this week I used a really really old Pollycraft digi that I thought would be fun for a boy card...
I couldn't fit all the sentiment on the front, so I had to do the inside too...

The papers are all from a 6 x 6 paper pad from Crate Paper (I think)... The images are all from the same collection from Pollycraft.  The sentiment stickers are from Cosmo Cricket.  I Glossy Accented over the water to make it shiny and used Distress inks to make the clouds.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Dream Valley Challenges #19: Anything Goes
Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenges #68: Celebration Time
One Stitch at a Time #87: Use a digi
Opus Gluei #117: What's on your head

Pollycraft Monday #115 Girls, Girls, Girls!

Good Monday morning!  I had a lovely weekend at home relaxing this weekend (apart from my little trip to Ikea and a lovely dinner out with friends).  Yesterday I made some cushions for our bed with some of the leftover fabric from the curtains and I love how they turned out.  I might snap a pic tonight to share.  I tell you what... I totally have those invisible zips sussed now!

Anyway, today we have a new challenge at Pollycraft for you and it's a super easy one!
It's Girls, Girls, Girls chosen by the lovely Cazza.   Our sponsor this week is Sew Sweet who are offering the winner a £10 voucher to spend in the store.

Here's my card:

I decided to use the lovely Lil Kitty from the Swings and Slides collection as I hadn't coloured her up before and she was so much fun to colour!  The papers I used are from Crate Paper and the Cat card is from My Mind's Eye.       The birdcage charm is from The Secret Garden on Da Wanda and the metal button is from my stash.  The ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl.  I added clouds with Distress Inks and a cloud silhouette I cut using my Slice Machine.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
The Squirrel and the Fox #3: One for the girls
By the Cute and Girly: Anything Goes
Di's Digi Designs: Girly Creations

Pollycraft Monday Challenge # 105: Recycle

Good morning!  It's Monday again!  Normally I hate Mondays, but this Monday is the second to last day of a 7 day guest trip, so tomorrow the guests leave and we get to get the boat cleaned and provisioned and ready for the next trip starting on Friday.  Which now that I write this, doesn't sound that appealing really, but at least we get to go home to our apartment Tues, Wed and Thursday nights!  If I'm lucky, I might even get some crafting time in!

So how did you like Paula's sketch challenge last week?  There were some fabulous entries and it was such a great sketch that I am definitely going to save it to use again.

The challenge this week at Pollycraft Monday Challenges is to use something or things recycled on your card.  That's a tough one for those of us that are Squary like me who like things to be all neat and tidy.  Luckily the Design Team girls have loads of inspiration to get you started.  And what is the prize this week you ask?  Well, it's a £10 voucher to use at My Mum's Craft Shop!

Here's my card:
This is Fluffy from the Critters and Cogs set at Pollycraft.  I think he's the reason I fell in love with Paula's images! I have coloured him with copics (see details below) and added googly eyes.  The design papers are from October Afternoon and Echo Park and the Postcard is a journalling card from October Afternoon.  I have used rub ons from Doodlebug designs for the sentiment.

So, what is recycled?
Well, I cut some old postage stamps off a letter and used them on the postcard.  The brown paper in the background is cut from a brown paper pharmacy bag.  The string I found in the kitchen drawer.  The flowers I made from tissue paper that came in my latest order of ribbons and charms from the Ribbon Girl.

Here's a close-up of the flowers:
These flowers were so easy to make!  I just roughly cut a bunch of different sized circles out of the tissue paper, scrunched them up a bit and poked a brad through the middle!  Simples!

Here's a close-up of Fluffy just because I love him...

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Catch the Bug: August Anything Goes Challenge
Paper Creators Crafts Challenge #4: All About Flowers
Frosted Designs: Coloring
Glitter Geeks Week 9:  Furry and Feathered Friends
Raise the Bar Challenge #69: Anything Goes

Hhmm... I cannot find the list of copics I used, but I can tell you that the blues are from the B0000 to B04 range and the yellows are probably YR30 and YR31 plus some Y000 and maybe Y11.

Have a lovely Monday!

Getting in early for Christmas...

Well we are back in Mykonos with a boss's daughter and her friends on board and it is party central here!  We seem to keep collecting more people... I don't know where they are finding them!  Oh to have a bikini body!  For me the only good thing about being here is that the guests tend to eat out for dinner and sleep most of the day.  So I don't have to worry about cooking dinner... and we get to sleep in a little bit in the mornings... Yay!

Anyway, onto more crafty things... I forgot to post this card I made a little while ago from the new release Christmas images from Pollycraft.  This is one of the Swings and Slides kids from the Deck the Halls collection and it is called 'Ring out those bells'.

I have coloured this sweet wee boy with copics (see details below).  The flower is just circles of felt that I cut out, the tag is from Maya Road, and the seam binding is from The Ribbon Girl.  The argyle paper is from My Mind's Eye and the dots are from Crate Paper.  I {heart} argyle, although strangely enough I don't actually own any argyle clothing... I am always in search of the perfect argyle pattern cardi or sweater but for some reason I am never happy with the colours that are used on clothing.  *Sigh* Oh well... I will just have to make my own one day when I get back to my fabric stash in NZ.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp: Christmas in August
Paperplay Challenges: Christmas in August
Craft Us Crazy: Anything Goes in August

Here are the copics I used:

Okay, well that's it from me for now... I'm off to make beds (the kids all had a Nanna nap this afternoon to be ready for partying all night), clean bathrooms (pretty soon they're all going to shower and beautify themselves) and make the crew some dinner!

Ciao!
