Park Glen Door

Good morning!  It's a beautiful sunny day here in Athens and I think it's going to be a hot one!  I'm almost better after my bug on the weekend (thank you so much for your well wishes)... my tummy is still a little bit tender, but at least I don't feel like someone has scrunched me up and wiped the floor with me any more!  Today I have to clean all the guest cabins and wash a million towels and blankets!

Did you hear that Barbara at Little Miss Muffet Stamps has started designing dies?  Her very first (and rather wonderful) die is called the Park Glen Door and I finally have a card to share using it today.  Warning... this post is a bit picture heavy because I made the door open...

The papers are from Authentique mostly and the lovely doily is from my blog friend Maria Therese.  The ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl and the chipboard swirls are from Make it Crafty.  The little tag  with the bard is from My Mind's Eye.

I cut the door out twice and sandwiched a layer of acetate between the two doors.  Then I stamped Iris May Hatter on my colouring card stock with extra room to her right so that I could cut a little fold to glue to the back of the door as a hinge.  After I did this I realised I should have sandwiched the hinge between the two door layers like I did with the acetate.  Next time!

I coloured Iris with copics, then masked her with Friskett Film and sponged Distress inks around her.  The ribbon is quite stiff, so the edge of the bow holds the door closed.

Here's a close up of the door and Iris:

And here are the copics I used:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Stampin' Sisters in Christ: Make an action card... something must move (the door opens)
Crafty Ann's Challenges: It's a girl thing

Okay, that's it from me today!   It would be great if you could head over to the challenge blog to check out our Monday inspiration!  We have some lovely Pollycraft cards as well as a Park Glen Door card and a Sugar n Spice doll rubber stamp card to share!

There are also a few days left to get your challenge entry into our Rainbows, Clouds or Wings challenge!

Ciao!

Arabella
